Elder McCuistion & Elder Lodder

Elder Lodder has been assigned to his first companion, Elder McCuistion. All Elder Lodder really told us is that he is from Sandy and that he graduated from Jordan High in 07.
Elder Lodder had a hard first week in Hawaii. Apparently his housing isn't what he is used to. He said that not only is it super small, it is full of rats and bugs. He said he is starting to get used it though. He sounds like he needs lots of support from us right now. Please send letters and packages! Here are a few of his favorite things:

Favorite candy: carmellos, sour patch kids, reeses cups, reeses pieces, sour gummy worms, twix, milky way, 100 grand, hot tamales

Favorite restaurants (gift cards): Panda Express, IHOP

Favorite snacks: Gardettos rye chips, Chex Mix

Favorite cookies: EL Fudge, Oreos, chips ahoy, lemon sandwich cookies, pink and orange colored wafer cookies

Also, a tip from a prior Hawaii missionary, CLEANING products! That will help keep the rats and bugs at a minimum.

Aloha from Hawaii!

We recieved this picture and email from Elder Lodder's mission President.
"Elder Lodder has arrived safely in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission, has done some street contacting in Honolulu, been assigned to his first area and companion and is off and running. He looks fabulous and we are excited to have him in our mission. We will take good care of him over the next couple of weeks and then President & Sister Dalton will do the same for the rest of his time here in Hawaii. He will truly become one of our sons and one of theirs as well."
If you compare this picture to the picture of him in front of the temple, it looks like they cut his hair a little more in the MTC. And taught him how to style it a little bit more like an official missionary! Looking good Elder!

Headed out of the MTC

Elder Lodder is just about finished with his 3 week training in the Provo MTC. He will be headed to Hawaii on Tuesday, June 15th. Things started out a little slow for him as he was sick when he got to the MTC and apparently his companion was also. So they had to spend the first 4 days in confinement. But he (and his companion from Mesa, AZ) are doing great now! He says his testimony has already grown and he misses everyone, especially Molly (his dog).
